We love to review stuff. So our Skype Journal lab rats review hardware, software, and technical constructs (APIs, protocols, specs, etc.) related to Skype and other emerging conversation solutions. We publish product announcements, reviews, and category guides under the Skype Journal Labs brand.

If you want your product reviewed:

• Check that we'll care. Your product should be relevant to our readers/clients and novel in some way
• Check we're able to handle your product. No rackmounts, nothing needing refrigeration or that might die, please.
• Email the editor to schedule time. (editor at skypejournal com)
• Pack the product with:
  • your business card
  • tips on what to look for in your product
  • Instructions for prepaid return shipping or, if don't want them back, please say so.
  • catalog info, like correct product name, model number, suggested pricing, countries where it will be available, date available, and languages  
• Don't ship the product unless you get an OK before.
• Ship the product (or a link to a download) to:

• Skype or IM us to help us set it up and using it.

• We respect embargoes.
• We keep things for two to six weeks.
• If you don't arrange for prepaid shipping, we reserve the right to pass the items on to our readers, charities, or strangers on the street when we're done.
• We cannot guarantee schedules or positive reviews.
• Help us tell the story behind your product. Introduce us to your product managers, designers, software architects, your channel marketing person.

Skype Journal Sponsors

Skype Journal offers six premium sponsorship ad units, served in the top right area of every Skype Journal page. These sponsors are important to us and we look for products and services relevant to our targeted and influential audience. These ads are priced on a monthly basis for a permanent ad spot.

Ad Specs:

• 125 by 125 pixel size
• Preferably the company or product logo
• Will link back to the company product page
• No animations (simple ads)

Pricing for each of the six ad units is currently $3,000 per month, which translates to a very low CPM. There is a minimum term of two months, followed by a month-to-month plan where either party may terminate the relationship on 30 days notice.
